Shelley Productions

Producing and promoting the sport of Team Roping.

Started in 1991, Shelley Productions has a long list of accomplishments and well respected references in the team roping industry.

A family owned and operated business which is based in New Mexico, Shelley Productions travels throughout the U.S. to produce the ultimate in team roping events. From amateur to professional, local to national, we have the experience to plan, promote, and produce team roping events for any venue.

Founder Troy Shelley has been roping professionally since 1984. With 25 years of experience in the roping and rodeo industry, Troy knows what it takes to fulfill the expectations of today’s competitors and spectators at his events. His reputation of providing the best quality cattle and professional staff is known by most of the roping world.

Shelley productions has either produced, or provided cattle and staff support for the largest and most popular roping events in the U.S. Events such as the United States Team Roping Championships, Bob Fiest Invitational, Wrangler National Finals Rodeo, AQHA World Show, Wildfire Open to the World, Perry DiLoretto and the World Series of Team Roping Finale to name a few.

One of our strengths is the continuous supply of fresh cattle. Shelley productions crosses an average of 5000 Mexican corriente steers annually. This ensures our ability to consistently match the right type of cattle for the right roping or rodeo. Cattle sales and leasing is also available from Shelley Productions year round. No order is too small or too large. Our sales and lease program is a large part of our overall business.

Finally, the core strength of any organization is the people involved. Shelley Productions is fortunate to have a staff of very experienced employees who have been with us for many years. We feel that our office, flaggers, announcers, and arena staff are the best in the business.

Shelley Productions 2009

In addition to repeat events each year, we have an aggressive schedule of roping for 2009.

Currently on the calendar is a total of 27 World Series of Team Roping qualifiers, including the new “Texas Finale”. All of the WSTR qualifiers are held in the best arenas available, with some great holiday dates during the year. On each weekend of the WSTR qualifiers we also host an “Open” division with the WSTR payback format.

The variety of ropings we host, allow us to draw from a greater number of potential customers at each event.

Our calendar also includes 11 months of 3 day events associated with the New Mexico Businessmen’s Team Roping Association. The NMBTRA is a strong membership of 20 years and boasting an average of 400 plus teams per roping.

These ropings attract members and spectators from Texas and Arizona as well.

For our sponsors this means increased exposure to large numbers of ropers and spectators. For the cities that host our events it means increased revenue for the hospitality industry, and it means our ropings will pay better than ever for our ropers.
